Stamp Collecting Part 1
July 26th 2010 10:32
All you need to stamp collect is:
A stamp catalogue (I recommend a worldwide stamp catalogue)
Colour Key
Perforation Gauges
Tweezers
Hinges (A 1,000 pack of hinges is available from Stanley Gibbons)
Scissors
and a
magnified glass
Step 1: Cut the envelope paper off where stamp is positioned
Step 2: Flot the envelope paper with the stamp attach to it into the bowl with water. BE CAREFUL! Not to sink the envelope paper (with stamp attach to it) or it might damage your stamp.
Step 3: Take the stamp off the envelope paper carefully.
Step 4: Dry them. Put a book on the stamps to easily dry them or you could use a newspaper to dry them too, that is a good idea.
Step 5: Finished you are now ready to mount them in an album.
